My 12 Favorite Problems
This all started in an online writing course I’m in, The Write of Passage.
Our very first assignment was a reflection: what are the 12 biggest questions always on your mind? It was inspired by an incredible quote from Einstein: “It’s not that I am so smart, I just sit with questions longer”.
So here’s my 12:
How can I cultivate genuine first principled thinking so I can identify novel ideas and ask incisive questions?
How can I ask more incisive, 2nd/3rd order questions when learning and understanding new things (startups, technology trends, philosophy, science)?
How can I more naturally evaluate early stage startup opportunities?
How can I more creatively tie together emerging technology with historical patterns to distill possible futures in an engaging and educational way?
How will emerging technologies like AI, Crypto, and Bio innovations transform how we live our lives and the work we do?
What work keeps me increasingly fulfilled? How can I make daily progress towards that?
How can I be more eloquent, concise, and impactful in my written and verbal communication?
What unique experiences and traits can I draw from to make myself useful to startups?
How can I better tame my emotions to more consistently remain present, patient, happy and energetic?
How can I gain geographical independence such that I can split my time effectively between the US and Australia?
How can I surround myself with people who are equally (or more) curious, kind, and optimistic so I can always feel energized and stretched?
How can I improve both my focus and my velocity when consuming information?
